Following on from the joy in seeing the eggs hatch into chicks, it appears something has happened for the parents to no longer be present. One of the parents was last seen around 7:15pm in the nest box, after that the chicks were left on their own.

This morning, comparing photographs, there is no movement confirming that all the chicks have died overnight due to low temperatures and lack of food.

We can only speculate as to what has happened to the parents, where they lost while looking for food, killed by other predators or just chased away by the feral pigeons that seem to be hanging around.
